This Boulder Summer Theater Camp Is Pure Magic
(And There Are Only A Few Spots Left)
An unforgettable experience where kids build confidence, creativity, and take center stage
There’s something really special that happens when a child steps onto a stage for the first time.
Maybe they’re a little nervous. Maybe they’re unsure. But then something shifts… They find their voice, they connect, they shine.
That’s exactly what makes Boulder Summer Theater Camp with Michelle Grimes so unique.
This isn’t just another summer camp. It’s a transformative, confidence-building experience that kids carry with them long after the final curtain call.
More Than a Camp—A Full Theater Experience
At this intimate Boulder camp, kids don’t just “try out” theater… they become part of a full production.
Over the course of the session, campers will:
🎭 Learn scripts and memorize lines
🎶 Rehearse with music
👗 Wear costumes (handmade with care!)
🎨 Create art connected to the show
🤝 Work as a team
✨ Perform in a final production for family and friends
And because the camp is intentionally small, just 14 students total, each child gets real attention, encouragement, and a chance to truly shine.
Led by a Teacher Who Truly Gets Kids
This camp is led by Michelle Grimes, a retired elementary school teacher and professional actress who has been teaching theater to children for over 25 years.
And you can feel that difference.
Michelle doesn’t just teach theater, she creates a space where kids feel safe to try, to grow, and to be themselves. She understands how to meet kids where they are and gently guide them toward confidence.
For some kids, that might mean stepping into a leading role.
For others, it might mean simply finding the courage to speak up.
Both are equally celebrated here.
A Meaningful Story with a Powerful Message
This year’s June camp centers around an original African folktale, weaving together storytelling, culture, and creativity in a way kids truly connect with.
Throughout the camp, students will:
✨ Explore different types of stories—fables, myths, legends, and fairy tales
✨ Learn about African cultures and geography
✨ Help bring a vibrant, meaningful story to life
The heart of the production?
Love, acceptance, and celebrating our differences.
It’s the kind of message that sticks, and one that feels especially meaningful right now.
Creativity Beyond the Stage
What makes this camp even more unique is the blend of theater, art, and learning.
Kids aren’t just performing. They’re creating, imagining, and understanding the story on a deeper level. From costumes to artistic elements, they’re part of the entire creative process.
📍 A Warm, Local Setting
Held at City Church Boulder (Jay & 28th), the space offers a welcoming, community feel—perfect for rehearsals, creativity, and connection.
⏳ Only 5 Spots Left
Here’s the part you need to know:
👉 The July camp is already completely full
👉 The June session has just 5 spots remaining
And because Michelle keeps the group small on purpose, once those spots are gone… they’re gone.
Is This the Right Fit for Your Child?
This camp is perfect for kids who:
- Love to perform—or want to try something new
- Would benefit from a confidence boost
- Enjoy creative, hands-on experiences
- Thrive in smaller, supportive environments
You don’t need prior theater experience…just a willingness to try.

A Quick Note from Me
As a fellow parent, I know how hard it can be to find camps that feel meaningful… Not just something to fill the day, but something that really impacts your child.
This is one of those camps.
If you’ve been looking for something a little more personal, a little more intentional… I would not wait on this one!
